With a plan to cross back into the USA in the morning, this was a great late stop to pick up some snacks, visit the restroom and park the RV overnight. Some of the Walmarts in Ontario don't like overnight parking but this one did not have any signs posted.

First, the men's room was in good shape. Then the rest of the store. Very tidy inside and decently stocked, I had no problem finding stuff and then paying for snacks and a small case of water. Prices were decent, especially considering that I'm getting a decent bonus with the exchange rate.

Yes, I locked up the van at 8pm and was not disturbed. I was out and on my way before 5:30am, heading to the Peace Bridge. Easy!

The food section is pretty small with most of the floor space occupied by clothing and electronics. This Walmart no longer takes, or will exchange USD but it is very close to the border and a convenient stop prior to our after the crossing and they have a good selection of Heinz baked beans for great prices

Plenty of parking and clean store, wish they had Deli section too if with freshly cooked food items, but all else was good.
Clean appearance both outside and inside, and other than that, your regular neighbourhood Walmart.
All sections highlighted and defined as expected.

This is a message for the older cashier my wife and I encountered yesterday who instead of de-escalating a situation decided to question the mood of my wife and give her a story to tell at Christmas functions this weekend. We were buying presents and a couple of gift cards... Which... For some reason... You didn't think we'd want the receipts for. What you didn't know was we were just inline behind another customer who was squabbling with a cashier because their cashier didn't give them receipts for the gift cards and they didn't work... (I'm assuming that's you, old school).
Now I do understand that selling those gift cards are actually a pain in the backside, the front side the upside and the downside, I get that. But let me tell you this. Your employer cares so little about their customers that they have these systems where their only working function is to take our money. Weather what they're taking our money for works or not, they don't care. So when I take money and turn it into plastic money because my niece's play some stupid game on their Xbox, we'd like it to work. And if YOU the cashier want to try to figure out why my wife is being miserable... Well if you find out in the general sense, let me know, but as for this situation you seem to be lacking some self awareness and awareness of the experience your company provides for everyone shopping there.
If you don't ASK if we want a receipt, how do we KNOW WHEN to ask for the receipt. See I'm not getting paid, and I'm one of the FEW people who are getting a human to check them out... The only reason you have a job... And those self checkouts went from a small area... To now... You're the small area. So you're there to OVER compensate for the lack of customer experience your employer has chosen to provide.
When I walk into a store and have to pass through a GATE that tells me that the people I'm giving my money to think of me no better than a lowly criminal, then they think I'm supposed to be flawless at a job I was never trained at and cash myself out. There's people everywhere in the store, none of them "work that department" when I need help.
So when I come to you, to treat me like a human being. I do it with a smile. I do it with understanding that you are going to treat me like a human being. That you are the only human part of my experience.
And as for your employer and this review? Even this awful experience doesn't eclipse how terrible your employer is. I went from shopping at Walmart twice a week give years ago for groceries, toy, basically everything I buy. To going to Walmart maybe three times a year for a couple of things because I'm in the area, or it's Christmas and I'm just trying to even out the gifts. It's the one place when I walk into now where I absolutely can't ask anyone for help, they're either the most miserable people working the floor OR they don't actually work for Walmart (but they're in the store all day) and they must have been spawned from the Earth because they have NO awareness of anything going on inside the store (like honestly I've had customers ask ME where something was KNOWING I don't work there and I ANSWER them because I'm a human being... And they're a human being). And the worst thing is the self checkout. Absolutely f that. Especially considering your company holds more importance in loss prevention than just making their customers feel like they're giving someone their money they respect. Than giving that customer a good feeling when they leave and be a positive part of their day.

During my travels, I encountered this walmart supercenter. The service was great and I was able to get Ronald the cat food he loves.

If only the McDonald's was still in operation...

WALMART PHARMACY

My grandfather passed away late last night. He had narcotic injections and other things the PSW couldn’t take with her and she advised me to bring it to any pharmacy to get it taken care of. I went to the Walmart pharmacy. The pharmacist was rude and unwelcoming. I told him my situation and he just told me to take it to the pharmacy they got it from, I said I don’t know what pharmacy and I can’t really ask him, and he told me to take the needles out of the container to read the label to try and see where they came from. Which obviously IS NOT safe at all for many reasons. Then another worker, Peter, came over to look, was also rude, the pharmacist walked away unconcerned and I said okay what am I supposed to do with all of this, he said to throw them out. I had ozempic as well, so more needles. So I don’t think it’s safe to throw ozempic injections and narcotic injections in the garbage. If I had a drug problem and was trying to get rid of these I’d view this as a sign to just use them lol. I said okay I guess we should’ve went somewhere else and what am I supposed to do, I’m supposed to just throw needles away? And Peter said I guess so and maybe you should go somewhere else. The needles were already in a sharps container. So I don’t see a problem.

So that’s what I did, Shoppers pharmacy down the street and they were really helpful and said that Walmart was ridiculous for not taking them. They took the needles no problem. They said even if I didn’t have a sharps container that they’re supposed to hand me one and I can’t dump everything in there. No matter what it is because it just gets incinerated anyways. Will never be using Walmart pharmacy again.

Store is going through some revamping and updating. Layout of items and departments have changed slightly, but O like it. Plenty of staff on the floor, and we're eager to offer help to find items.

Put your holiday hours online and in your voice message. It sucks to drive from another city when you are listed as OPEN when in fact you are not. A written note on your door is not helpful.
